What I Accept

I accept both stained glass and fused glass commissions, ranging from small, intimate pieces to large, complex work. There are no fixed size limits — the right approach depends on the space, the design, and the glass itself.

The Commission Process

You don’t need a finished idea to begin. Some commissions start with a clear vision; others begin with a feeling, a story, or simply a space that needs something special.

  1. Initial conversation — We talk about your idea, intended location, approximate size, and any budget considerations.
  2. Design development — This often happens in stages:
    • Overall concept and layout
    • Color palette discussion
    • Actual glass selection (texture, transparency, movement)
This phase may involve several back-and-forth conversations — and that’s normal.
  3. Creation — Once the design is finalized, I begin fabrication. For fused work, this may include multiple kiln firings.
  4. Completion — Delivery or pickup, along with care, hanging, or display guidance.

Collaboration is part of the process — especially during design and glass selection.

Timing & Expectations

Lead times vary widely. Factors include current workload, material availability, design complexity, and how quickly design decisions come together.

Pricing is influenced by size, detail, number of glass pieces, lead vs. foil construction, and (for fused work) the number of kiln firings. I can usually work within a wide range of budgets, and I’m happy to discuss options early in the process.

Creative Boundaries

I reserve the right to decline commissions that fall outside my personal or artistic boundaries. This may include certain religious imagery or content I consider offensive or incompatible with my work.

These conversations are always handled respectfully and honestly.
